This is a unique concept and a first for South Africa in which young between the ages of 18-30 are given an exclusive opportunity to win place on the cover of the SUTRA™ Magazine as well as become the Brand Ambassador for the same brand.
This non-profit Women Empowerment initiative helps provide access to the media and fashion world in ways that many of the entrants have never dreamt possible. From rubbing shoulders with Bollywood stars and supermodels, to networking with Ambassadors, diplomats and SA finest business executives and leaders, all of this and more is possible as the Face of SUTRA™!
The Heart and Stroke Foundation was last year’s chosen charity, and all net proceeds were contributed to the foundation.
With unprecedented support in past events from the likes of the City of Cape Town, Old Mutual, L’Oreal, Incredible India, Bobbi Brown, Sensai Kanebo and others, the Face of SUTRA™ 2011 is set to wow South Africans. Current partners/sponsors include: The High Commission of India- Pretoria, Incredible India, Saffron TV, PIO TV (India), Gold Reef City, etc.
The Government of India and the High Commissioner of India, Mr Virendra Gupta, have agreed that this initiative is a fantastic Women Empowerment Initiative, and in support of this event will be sending 3 chosen candidates on an all-expenses paid training course in ‘Empowerment of Women Through Enterprises’ in India for 8 weeks. This is the first such support in SA for a Women Empowerment initiative, by the Govt. of India..
